Chromebooks will stay with the students until the end of their graduating year of high school.

New Student Transportation Parent Portal

The Newfoundland and Labrador English School District (NLESD) is introducing parents to its new Student Transportation Parent Portal. This Parent Portal is the best way to access and review your child’s transportation information online. A note is being sent home today, (June 9, 2021) with students explaining in detail how to access and create an account in the new portal. This portal will tell you if your child is eligible or not for transportation based on their civic address. If your child is eligible for transportation, the portal will also provide you with your child’s bus stop assignment and the pickup and drop off times in the morning and afternoon. Families will also be automatically signed up to receive email notifications about routing changes throughout the school year.

To help families access their transportation information more easily for next school year, the NLESD is recommending all families create an account upon receipt of the note today. This Parent Portal will remain open for account creation until June 25, 2021. It will then be temporarily deactivated until mid August 2021 while the District updates the system with any required bus route changes for the 2021- 22 school year.

Construction at Kingsgate Condominiums

Construction is currently ongoing at Kingsgate condominiums which is the adjacent property to Brother Rice Junior High. The construction will be ongoing for the remainder of the school year. We have asked students to refrain from going on their property due to ongoing safety concerns. Please speak with your children regarding this issue and remind them not to walk onto their property.
